Cafe le Flore

Famous for being one of the oldest cafes in Paris, Cafe le Flore is an experience unto itself. We opted for a simple expresso and milk and Heidi ordered the special, not knowing what she was getting. The waiter took entirely too long, and was completely snobby. But who cares? Were were dressed terribly much like tired tourists.

While there I spyed a young Parisian enjoying an early expresso and pastry as only the French can. She looked like Gigi as a young girl. She had on a Madeline hat and had propped her feet up on the chair across from her. She'd generously spoon jam on her pastry, take a large bite, and lick each finger to finish while look positively feminie the entire time. Ah the French!

Heidi, I know you will never forget the taste of your chocolate (that hot chocolate for you Americans) from Cafe le Flore. It was lovely to be there with you in that moment.

The expresso was heaven and I have never had any better prepared.
